6 Gamblers Arrested In G’bal; Stake Money, 2 Vehicles Also Seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested six gamblers in Ganderbal and seized stake money and two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about the gambling activities, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Gund under the supervision of SDPO Kangan raided a Hotel at Kullan village after obtaining Search warrant from Executive Magistrate and during search arrested six Gamblers. Police in its statement further said that the said gamblers were identified as Mohd Amin Bhat S/o Gh Qadir Bhat R/o Malshahibagh Ganderbal, Mohd Abdullah Shah S/o Ab Kareem Shah R/o Pandach Nagbal, Ab Rashid Ganaie S/o Gh Mohd Ganaie and Javaid Ahmad Najar s/o Mushtaq Ahmad Najar both residents of Nagbal, Ab Rashid Mir S/o Mohd Akbar Mir R/o Busarbugh Shuham and Mohd Yusuf Parray S/o Gh Mohd Parray R/o Khalmullah Nagbal. Stating that the said accused were arrested red handed while gambling in the room and subsequently stake money of Rs-98000/- and playing cards were seized from their possession , Police in it’s statement further said that the said accused were shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Police in its statement furthermore said that two Vehicles bearing Registration No. JK16C-0432 (Alto) and JK01AU- 0179 (Eco Van) were also seized, adding therein a case under relevant sections of law was subsequently registered at Police Station Gund besides initiating investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
