Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting the accused involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police station Uri received a written compliant from one Hasan Din S/o Ghulam Qadir R/o Gawalta who alleged therein that at about 1705hrs, while waiting in line at SDH Uri for an OPD ticket, a sum of ₹1 lakh was stolen from his pocket.
Stating that the a case under FIR No. 56/2024 under Section 303/BNS was registered at Police Station Uri besides initiating further investigation , Police in it’s statement said that during the course of investigation, and after reviewing CCTV footage, a suspect identified as Syed Bidar Ali S/o Syed Nazar Shah R/o Kund Berjala Kamalkote was called for questioning and during questioning, the said accused confessed his involvement in the commission of the crime which led to the recovery of Rs. 42,000 from his residence, adding therein that further investigation into the case is going on.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to eliminate social crimes and also appealed people to share information of anti-social elements with it .
