Srinagar :J&K Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday received a complaint against Fair Price Shop Dealer PatiBongamKulgam namely Ajaz Ahmad Malik S/o Nazir Ahmad Malik R/o KhuriBatporaKulgam, for demanding of bribe for release of Ration and for doing KYC
According to a statement issued from ACB Headquarters here, in his complaint, the complainant alleged that the dealer of the Fair Price Shop was denying and depriving the complainant the monthly ration on the pretext of submitting KYC. The complainant had many a times approached the Fair Price Shop Dealer, but he used dilly dallying tactics and in lieu demanded ?7500 as bribe.
Besides, the complainant arranged ?4000 and approached ACB for taking necessary action against Fair Price Shop dealer.
Stating that on receipt of the complaint, a Case FIR No. 03/2024 u/s 7 of P/C Act was registered at ACB Police Station Anantnag and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted by this Bureau, which laid a successful trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ?4000 from the complainant. The bribe amount was also recovered from his possession in the presence of the independent witnesses and the investigation was set in motion.
