Crackdown On Illegal Mining: ‘8 Vehicles Including1 JCB Seized in Jammu’, Says Police

Jammu : Police on Saturday said that it has seized eight (8) vehicles including one JCB during it’s ongoing crackdown on illegal mining in Jammu district.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Polic said that in a drive against illegal mining carried out to tighten noose against the violators a massive initiative has been launched against the criminals involved in illegal mining and minting money out of the public resources.
Stating that in a surprise operation carried at different locations in Rural zone of District Jammu the Police Post Pounichak detained two vehicles including one tractor trolley bearing engine No. DC3009/ SAEF0967 found loaded with RBM and a tipper bearing registration No. JK02CW/6154 found loaded with crusher sand, both involved in illegal mining and without Form’s A, Police in its statement further said that Police Post Jourian also seized four (4) vehicles including three tractor trolleys bearing chassis no. MBNAK49AHNTM41400, Chassis No KZGDK1377137S3 and Chassis No 828337, all loaded with sand without having any valid permission. Police in its statement further said that JCB bearing JCB Regn No JK02CP7327 involved in illegal mining also stands seized.
Stating that BPP Sandwan detained seized one dumper bearing No. PB29X 9460 found loaded with Bajri not according to form A, Police in its statement furthermore said that Police Station Nagrota also seized one tractor trolley bearing chassis no MBNAK48ACMTM52031, Engine No CJ.1354ML014491 found loaded with Sand and without Form A.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that after seizing these vehicles the District Mining Officer was informed for necessary legal actions, reiterating therein its commitment to protect the public property and eradicate the menace illegal mining in the area.
