Kishtwar: In accordance with the directions of the Labour Commissioner, Jammu & Kashmir, Charandeep Singh and guidelines from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Labour & Employment Department, Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), conducted an awareness camp on the registration and benefits of e-Shram Portal for Truck drivers, helpers, and co-drivers.
The camp aimed to educate participants about the necessary documents required and the benefits of registering on the e-Shram Portal.
The event was attended by the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, Vinakshi Koul; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kishtwar, Mamta Sudershan; Inspector, MVD, Kishtwar; staff from both departments, and representatives from the Driver Union, including /Truck drivers, helpers, and co-drivers.
ALC Kishtwar informed that this initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to promote the welfare and well-being of workers in the unorganized sector.
The e-Shram Portal registration aims to provide social security benefits, including insurance and pension schemes, to eligible workers, She added.
