Jammu : Police on Monday said that it has foiled two bovine smuggling bides besides rescuing 18 bovines and seizing two vehicles.
In a statement issued from Jammu Police district headquarters Police said that Jammu Police while tightening its noose against bovine smugglers under operation Kamdhenu police team of Police Station Nagrota during night intervening Sunday and Monday foiled two bovine smuggling bids in which 18 bovines were rescued and two vehicles seized. Stating that truck bearing registration number JK03G-4627 loaded with 16 bovines was seized and driver of the truck namely Zakir Fayaz S/o Fayaz Ahmed Bhat R/o near Masjid Chowgam Distt. Kulgam was arrested on the spot at Naka Ban Toll plaza , Police in its statement further said that the other Vehicle Mahindra No JK02CS/4092 was founded loaded with two bovine animals but the driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot. Police in it statement also said that two FIRs bearing FIR No.190/2024 and FIR No.191/2024 U/S
188 IPC 11 PCA Act were registered at Police Station Nagrota, adding therein that further investigation into the matter is underway.
