Baramulla:  Member, National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Dr. Divya Gupta on Monday visited Baramulla and chaired a day long grievance redressal camp/bench on the matters of Child Rights Violation in the district at Government High School Singhpora, Pattan.

During the grievance redressal camp, Dr. Divya was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad and other district and sectoral officers.

The redressal camp saw a huge participation of the public including parents, guardians, children, and concerned individuals from across the district who voiced their concerns related to child rights violations, education, healthcare, and other critical issues affecting children to the Member of NCPRC, seeking her intervention for the prompt resolution.

After thoroughly listening to the grievances put forth by the children and the parents, Dr. Divya directed the complaints to the concerned department heads, instructing them to initiate prompt action for the timely resolution of these issues.

Meanwhile, Dr. Divya emphasized the need for more such initiatives to address child rights issues in the district and highlighted collective efforts from all departments to ensure prompt resolution of any rights abuse issues.

Further, the Member NCPRC encouraged every participant in the camp to make a commitment to plant at least 5 trees in their surroundings to counteract the rising temperatures and contribute towards creating greener and cooler spaces.

Earlier, Dr. Divya inspected various stalls set up by different departments including health, education, ICDS, Social Welfare and others, to acquaint the general public about the beneficiary schemes being implemented by them.
