DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Muharram

DM directs Cleanliness, Medical Facilities, Uninterrupted services

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary on Monday chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the arrangements and took necessary actions for the Muharram days.
The DC directed the Poonch Municipality and MC Surankote to ensure proper cleanliness in all mosques and Imambargahs . Similar instructions were given to the Block Development Officers of Mandi and Mendhar.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Chief Medical Officer to arrange for adequate medical facilities and emergency services during the Muharram processions and gatherings at the Imambargahs.
The Public Health Engineering Department and Power Development Department were directed to ensure uninterrupted water and Power supply to the mosques, Imambargahs, and the venues of the Majlis. They were also asked to provide water tankers to support the processions.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Assistant Director of Food Supplies to ensure the availability of ration and LPG as per the requirements during the Muharram days. The Regional Transport Officer was directed to coordinate with the police to ensure smooth regulation of traffic and the maintenance of street lights and roads.
The meeting discussed various other arrangements in detail to ensure the peaceful observance of the Muharram in the district.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, YougalManhas, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Zulafkar Ahmed, Tehsildar Haveli, AzharMajid, ARTO Poonch, Taramani, AD Food, AdilShabir, District Culture Officer, Dr.Alamdar Adam, Xen PDD, AftabHussain, EO Municipality, YaqoobChoudhary, TehsildarMandi, AshfaqHussain, AEE PHE, AsiqHussain, TehsildarHqr, Incharge, Nawab Ahmed, besides prominent citizens Taj Mir, Adv Mohammad Zaman, Surjan Singh, Ishrat Bhatt, and other officials and religious heads.
