Srinagar, June 28 :- The first batch of pilgrims for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra was flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

As per the details the ceremony took place early in the morning at 5:32 AM at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.

The convoy, consisting of 3,488 pilgrims in 164 vehicles, is headed towards the twin base camps in Baltal and Pahalgam for the pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva in the south Kashmir Himalayas.

This year’s yatra involves significant security measures, including multi-tier security protocols, and mandatory RFID cards for all pilgrims to ensure safety and traceability.

The pilgrimage officially begins on today, with a high turnout expected, as around 3.5 lakh pilgrims have registered for the yatra so far.
