Arrangements For Annual Bhomag-Jadsarkote Devta Mela Finalized

Udhampur: A meeting was held on Thursday to discuss the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the yearly Mela at BhomagDevsthanJadsarkoteDevta, commencing on July 5, 2024, in Block Tikri, district Udhampur.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, SaloniRai, took place in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex and was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas; District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta; District Information Officer RajinderDigra, and other officers.
Detailed discussions covered a wide range of arrangements, including security, sanitation, healthcare, transport, traffic management, drinking water and power supply, and the regulation of commodity prices.
In her address, the DC directed the district officers to work in coordination to finalize the necessary arrangements, emphasizing the importance of having everything in place well before the commencement of mela. She urged local mela committee members to contribute actively to ensure the mela’s success, highlighting the role of public participation in promoting tourism and boosting the local economy.
The Executive Engineer PHE was instructed to ensure adequate drinking water supply at the mela site, while Xen PDD was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the mela. The DC instructed Xen PMGSY to promptly fill all potholes.
To provide first aid facilities, the DC directed the Chief Medical Officer to deploy a team of doctors and an ambulance at the mela site. The Block Development Officer was tasked with ensuring a cleanliness drive, and the Chief Education Officer was asked to organize various cultural programs and other events during the mela days.
