Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar, intercepted two suspects identified as Mozim Manzoor Bhat S/o Manzoor Ahmad R/o Khadniyar Baramulla and Shahrukh Shafi Mir S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Bunhama Kupwara , adding therein that during search, contraband substances including 30 grams brown sugar and 40 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the sais accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station Baramulla where they remain in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigation , Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
