Jammu : Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Regional Director for J&K and Ladakh Chandrashekhar Azad chaired the 33rd meeting of Task Force on Urban Co-operative Banks (TAFCUB) here on Wednesday to review the financial position of Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) in J&K.
The Regional Director called for a coordinated approach between the J&K Government and Regulator to revive the cooperative banking sector in the J&K. He further stressed upon UCBs to intensify recovery efforts and explore ways to improve their financials and increase their capital base.
The meeting was attended by General Manager, Central Office, RBI, Sanjay Kumar; Joint Registrar Cooperative Societies, Surinder Paul Sharma: Officer on Special Duty, NAFCUB Subash Gupta; Deputy General Manager RBI Ram Sarup, and Chairman/ MDs of Citizen Cooperative Bank Ltd, Jammu and Kashmir Mercantile Cooperative Bank, Sopore among other officials of RBI.
