Srinagar, June 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the backdrop of recent terror attacks in Jammu region, reports said.
PM Modi, as per reports, was given a full overview of the security related situation in J&K. He was apprised of the counter-terror efforts being undertaken in the region following terror attacks.
He also spoke to J&K LG Manoj Sinha and took stock of the situation in J&K. PM was also briefed on the efforts being undertaken by local administration, reports said.
Nine pilgrims were killed on Sunday after their bus was attacked by terrorists in Reasi district. The bus went out of driver’s control and rolled into a deep gorge after terrorists fired at the driver.
On Tuesday, a CRPF man and two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Kathua district after militants opened fire on passersby in Saida Sukhal village in Hiranagar.
Six security personnel were killed after militants attacked a check post in Chattergala area of Bhaderwah.
A policeman was injured in another encounter that broke out in Gandoh of Bhadarwah last night.
