New Delhi: The General Manager of Northern Railway, Shobhan Chaudhuri, held a comprehensive performance review meeting at Baroda House, focusing on enhancing passenger amenities, improving safety, and advancing infrastructure work. The meeting involved departmental heads and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Northern Railway.
A railways spokesman stated that the meeting focused on passenger amenities at stations, including platform extensions, leveling, washable aprons, second entries, foot over bridges, escalators, and lift facilities for Divyangjans. Improvements to station buildings, including façades, were also discussed.
The GM reviewed progress in mobility enhancement, developmental infrastructure works, freight loading, and track safety.
In addition to the performance review, the GM presented Safety Awards to seven vigilant employees for their contributions to maintaining high standards of safety and security for passengers and railway property. He also reviewed the progress of doubling and new line projects, instructing officials to expedite the work.
He directed departments to regularly conduct training and refresher courses for staff to minimize human error. The GM assessed the freight business and urged Business Development Units to attract new customers and create an environment of trust, support, and confidence.
He emphasized that railway initiatives and concessions should reach clients and noted that the loading of food grains and other items has steadily increased each month. Northern Railway remains committed to providing safe, smooth, and efficient services to its customers, the spokesman said.
