Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on receiving inputs from reliable sources about a resident of Choon Budgam habing concealed/ dumped psychotropic substances in his residential house a special Police team headed by SHO Budgam raided the spot and during search recovered Alprazolam -3 Strips (65 tablets), Clonazepam -4 Strips (50 Tablets), Carispas -1 Strip (65 tablets) and SpasmoProxyvon Plus -24 tablets from the residential house of Uzlifat Nazir S/o Nazir Ahmad Magloo R/o Choon Budgam who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that a case under FIR No. 212/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam besides initiating further investigation into the case.
