Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested four persons for illegal mining & transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized four vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla and Incharge Police Post Delina seized four vehicles (2 Tippers, 2 Tractors) and also arrested four drivers identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar S/o Ab Rashid R/o JalSheeri, Nasir Hussain Mir S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Kralgund Handwara, Hilal Ahmad Zargar S/o Khazir Mohd R/o Chandoosa & Mohd Ramzan Teli S/o Ab Rahim R/o Watergam involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Khanpora and Khaitangan areas of Baramulla.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered ay Police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigations into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/River, as it is the violation of Government rules. Police also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
