Srinagar: A special anti-corruption court in Srinagar Saturday granted interim bail to a police officer in a bribery case.
After hearing prosecution and defence counsel the court granted the officer 20 days interim bail. In May, ACB trapped and arrested SHO police station Pantha Chowk Azim Iqbal Khan and his tout Mushtaq Ahmad Abassi for demanding bribe ofRs 8 lakh.
As per prosecution, ACB said it received a written complaint wherein it was alleged that Khan through his tout Mushtaq Ahmad is demanding Rs 8 lakh as bribe for issuance of a report in an accident case to the complainant.
During the course of investigation by ACB, a trap team was constituted and SHO and his tout were apprehended red handed while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant
