Reasi : The performance of Agriculture and Allied sectors regarding the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) was on Saturday reviewed by District Development Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan here at a meeting of stakeholder departments.
Taking a detailed review, the DDC sought progress report on HADP from departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries.
The meeting featured detailed Power Point presentations by the concerned District/Sectoral Officers, providing a first-hand appraisal of the progress made and targets achieved so far under various centrally sponsored schemes in the agriculture and allied sectors.
In his address, DDC urged the officers to work with increased zeal and dedication to ensure that the benefits of all schemes under the agriculture and allied sectors reach the intended beneficiaries. He emphasised the importance of field functionaries in the process of identifying beneficiaries in their respective zones, ensuring comprehensive outreach to the target population.
He also stressed the need to establish a baseline for targets, allowing for periodic evaluation of achievements aimed at the overall betterment of farm operating families in the district. He underscored the importance of efficient and effective functioning of the designated portals for beneficiary registration to ensure the proper implementation of schemes.
The DC asked the concerned officers to provide detailed information on the cultivation activities of 328 families and the actual land details of 31,369 families.
Additionally, DDC Mahajan emphasized the formation of Agro Tehsil level teams to motivate farmers and raise awareness about government-sponsored schemes. He also suggested cultivating underground crops in areas affected by monkey menace and encouraged horticulture officers to promote the growth of walnuts and apples in snow-prone areas.
Highlighting the importance of coordination, DDC emphasized inter-departmental collaboration and aimed for a 10% increase in production across agro sectors. DDC Mahajan directed Animal Husbandry officer to submit a weekly report on the number of animals tagged.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Joint Director Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers were present.
