DC Doda reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements

Doda : Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh on Saturday chaired a multi department meeting in the DC Office hall to review the arrangements for approaching Eid-ul-Azha Festival in 2024.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts by all departments to ensure the successful execution of the festival plans.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Javid Iqbal; ADC Sudershan Kumar; ACD Manoj Kumar; Tehsildar Dr Subuh Ahmad Shad, Superintendent Engineers from different departments, Chief Medical Officer and representatives from the Poultry Development Office, District Sheep Husbandry, and other key sectors.
Specific instructions were given to concerned officers for robust traffic management, ensuring adequate medical facilities and deployment of fire tenders to meet Emergency Services. The Executive Officer MC was asked to coordinate with community leaders including Seerat Committee traders associations, to ensure their involvement and cooperation.
The ADC Bhaderwah, ASP Bhaderwah, SDM Assar/Thathri/Gandoh and all Tehsildars were directed through virtual mode to ensure arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.
Key directives included ensuring the availability of sacrificial animals at designated locations and essential commodities in the market, identifying specific sites for sacrificial activities, and ensuring adequate electricity, water, and enhanced sanitation services across the district, particularly at all Mosques.
Security arrangements were emphasized, with instructions to properly stamp all animals intended for sacrifice to prevent unauthorized sales.
The Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology and Assistant Controller of Food Safety were tasked with regularly checking the quality of food and other goods in the market and taking samples for testing to ensure public safety. Additionally, sanitary workers were to be deployed in and around Eid-Gahs and other significant locations within the district.
SSP was directed to ensure security arrangements during the festival, while officers in charge of power and water supply were instructed to maintain an uninterrupted supply of electricity and water. The Executive Officer, Doda, was tasked with ensuring cleanliness in the town, especially around Mosques. The AD Food, Civil Supplies was asked to ensure the availability of food items and essential commodities.
The DC also directed Tehsildar Doda to ensure all essential requirements were met within the district and instructed all Tehsildars to ensure comprehensive arrangements during the festival.
The PHE department was asked to ensure the availability of water tanks in various areas, and the SRTC officer was directed to arrange vehicles for public movement during the festival. Finally, the District Information Department was instructed to prevent the spread of fake news and rumors on social media.
