DC Conducts Extensive Field Tour Of B’pora & Sumbal Areas

DC Visits Yatra Transit Camp Shadipora, Directs For Timely Completion Of All Yatra Related Works

Bandipora: In an effort to address local concerns and ensure effective administration, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Saturday conducted an extensive field tour of Bandipora and Sumbal areas of the district to inspect ongoing developmental projects, assess public grievances and interact with local residents.
During the field tour, DC paid a visit to District Hospital Bandipora to review the availability of medical supplies, facilities available in Blood Center, CT Scan and efficiency of other emergency services.
While interacting with healthcare staff, the DC emphasized cleanliness in and around the hospital in addition to enhancing patient care.
Stressing on quality health care, the DC directed hospital administration to address deficiencies promptly.
During his visit to the far-off Banyari area of Sumbal Sub Division, the DC inspected under construction 0.10 Mgd Rapid Sand Filtration plant of WSS Banyari Sharki, which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 crore under CAPEX.
AEE Jal Shakti Sumbal apprised that 80 percent of work has been completed, and the rest will be completed within the stipulated time.
The DC also visited the pump station of the newly started lift irrigation scheme at Anwath Banyari, which is designed to boost agricultural productivity by providing a reliable water supply to more than 1200 kanals of agricultural land.
AEE Mechanical Irrigation informed that presently, the pump station is capable of discharging 5 Cusec water, and it has been started on a war footing basis to ensure timely support for agricultural sector.
He said that after this season, the pump station will be further upgraded to enhance its capacity and efficiency.
The DC also paid a visit to dewatering pump station Saderkoot, and directed the concerned to complete the pending work on priority.
During the tour, the DC visited Delta Park Banyari to assess the facilities available for tourism development, besides he also inspected ongoing work on the Wular walkway.
He directed the concerned department and executing agency to redouble the efforts for completing the Wular walkway project within the stipulated timeframe.
The DC also assessed the progress of work for Mini Secretariat Hajin and asked the concerned to ensure adherence to quality standards and timelines.
On the way, the DC interacted with the public to gain firsthand insights into their needs and concerns. Locals presented various demands and flagged-off public issues.
After patiently listening to the issues of the public, the DC assured redressal of all genuine issues on priority, besides impressed upon officers to optimize resource allocation and enhance service delivery.
Later, the DC visited Yatra Transit Camp Shadipora to assess the preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra-2024.
On the occasion, officers from R&B briefed the DC regarding various upgradation works taken up for facilitating SANJY-2024 smoothly.
The DC directed officers of concerned departments to complete all yatra related works on time to ensure enhanced and hassle free facilities at Yatra Transit Camp Shadipora.
Among others, the DC was accompanied by SDM Sumbal, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar Hajin, Ex. Engineers of Jal Shakti and PDD besides other concerned.
