Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday booked a drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention order from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that drug smuggler identified as Tauseef Nabi Ganie @Tauseef Pujj S/o Ghulam Nabi R/o Stadium Colony Baramulla has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, adding therein that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Stating that case against the said drug smuggler was registered for being involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Town Baramulla and other areas of district, Police in it’s statement further said that despite involvement of the said accused in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have appreciated its role against drug peddlers and also reiterated its commitment to make all efforts to keep society free from drug abuse.
