Jammu : In a concerted effort to combat illegal mining and clamp down on violators, Jammu Police has taken stringent action against individuals involved in unlawful mining activities and profiteering from public resources.
A police spokesman said that during a recent operation conducted at various locations in the South Zone of District Jammu, Police Post Phallain Mandal detained a dumper and a tractor trolley loaded with illegally mined sand.
Similarly, Police Post Bathindi detained another dumper loaded with riverbed sand, as the operator failed to produce the necessary Form A documentation.
In total, three vehicles have been seized: one within the jurisdiction of Police Station Satwari and another within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bahu Fort in the South Zone.
Following the seizure of these vehicles, the District Mining Officer was promptly informed to undertake the necessary legal actions.
The spokesman said that Jammu Police remains committed to protecting public property and eradicating the menace of illegal mining in the area, ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources and adherence to legal regulations.
