Srinagar : The ‘World Environment Day-2024’ celebration organized by the P.G. Department of Environmental Science, SP College Srinagar, in collaboration with NSS, was a resounding success, epitomizing a collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
Dr. Suhaib A. Bandh, Assistant Professor Department of Environmental Science, delivered a stimulating lecture on the paramount theme “Land Degradation, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”
The event presided over by Prof. Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi, principal of the college, garnered notable attendance, with distinguished guests including Prof. P.S. Manhas of GGM Science College Jammu, and Dr. G.M. Bhat of SKUAST-K, enriching the intellectual discourse with their expertise and speeches.

The planting of approximately 200 saplings, encompassing a diverse array of species such as Pinus wallichiana, Cupressus, Cedrus deodara, and Ginko Biloba, symbolized a tangible investment in ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation.
