TLSC Charar-I-Sharief celebrates ‘World Environment Day’, conducts Plantation drive

World Environmental Day also celebrated at Legal Literacy Clubs of B’gam

Budgam: The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC), Charar-I-Sharief celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ and held plantation drive, on Wednesday at Munsiff Court Complex, Charar-I-Sharief, Legal Literacy Club KhanSahib and Legal Literacy Club Budgam.
The event was held under the directions and guidance of Khalil Ahmad Chowdhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam and Fakhur-Un-Nissa, Chairperson, TLSC Charar-I-Sharief.
The plantation drive was kick-started by Fakhur-Un-Nissa, Chairperson, TLSC Charar-I-Sharief by planting saplings of forest plants with the aim to fight against global warming thereby reducing its impact on climate change and ultimately presenting a better environment for future.
During the event, Chairperson, TLSC Charar-I-Sharief said that the aim of this programme is to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices in our communities. She also said that the objective is to address pressing environmental challenges and advocate for positive change, and highlighted all the beneficial aspects of tree plantations.
Adv. Reyaz Ahmad deliberated upon various aspects of the topic. He underlined the significance of planting trees. He also said that it was of utmost importance that nature is preserved and ecological balance is maintained.
Mir Tawseef and Javid Ahmad, lecturers of GBHSS also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of nature and the need to protect the environment.
Among others, the programme was attended by Association, Advocates, Panel Lawyers, Staff of Munsiff Court and TLSC Charar-I-Sharief, PLVs and teachers and students of GBHSS, Charar-I-Sharief, etc.
PLVs namely Mehraj din Shah and Ajaz Ahmad Mir at Legal Literacy Club Khan Sahib, Ajaz Ahmad Wani and MehboobaBano at Legal Literacy Club Budgam highlighted all the beneficial aspects of tree plantations among the students of the Legal Literacy Clubs.
Later, a pledge ceremony was held wherein participants pledged to save the environment.
