“BHSS Beerwah Observes ‘No Bag Day” To Celebrate ‘World No Tobacco Day”

Beerwah (Budgam)|May,31: World No Tobacco Day was on Friday celebrated at the BHSS Beerwah under the theme ‘Protecting children from tobacco industry interference’.
The program was attended by the CEO Budgam, DIET Principal Budgam, ZEO Beerwah , Tehsildar Beerwah, BMO Beerwah, Civil society members, NGOs’, teachers and students from various institutions of zone Beerwah.
The Principal BHSS Beerwah Javid Ahmad Banday gave the inaugural speech and highlighted the importance of the day and the negative impact of Tobacco on human health. The worthy CEO Budgam gave an overview of the Anti-tobacco day and its ill effects on smokers. He further added that the department in general and teachers in particular have the responsibility to make the institutions tobacco free destinations. The Principal DIET Budgam also urged for a safe and tobacco free environment. The other speakers including students also spoke on the occasion about ill effects of smoking. The students who bagged first, second and third positions in Seminar, painting and essay writing were given appreciation certificates. It is pertinent to mention that Mushtaq Ahmad Wani Teacher BHSS Beerwah was proudly presented an appreciation certificate by the Principal BHSS Beerwah and the ZEO Beerwah for his great role in guidance, counseling and rehabilitation of drug addicts and smokers particularly students in Beerwah and its adjoining areas. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Arif Mohiuddin Zonal culture coordinator of Zone Beerwah.
