Kishtwar Admin Hosts Yoga Mahotsava as a prelude to Int’l Yoga Day 2024

Amid dry, hot and humid weather, hundreds of people including men, women and children mostly bare foot visited the revered suffi Saint Shrine Sheikh Noor-Ud-Wali popularly known as Nund Resh at Charar-e- Sharief in Budgam district on Sunday for prayers to seek rainfall to end the drought season in Kashmir valley. Kishtwar : Department of AYUSH, in collaboration with District Administration Kishtwar on Thursday organised its first mega event Yoga Mahotsava, as a prelude to International Yoga Day-2024.
The event, themed “Yoga for Women Empowerment,” was held here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
The yoga camp was conducted under the guidance of the Director of Ayush J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh, and under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav.
A team of Ayush Medical Officers/Officials, including Dr. Atul Kumar, Dr. Monika Sharma, Dr. Sheetal Devi and Raj Kumar, aided by the school management, organized the event.
The event commenced with a lecture on the importance of yoga for women’s empowerment and well-being by Dr. Monika Sharma, while the yoga instructors demonstrated yoga asanas and pranayamas related to the health and hygiene of women.
Deputy CEO, Masood Ahmad Qazi and School Principal, Krishna Lal were also present at the event.
In his address, the Principal shared his views on women empowerment and appreciated the efforts of the Ayush team.
The program was specially organized for all female teachers and girl students. About 100 participants attended the event, which was a great success.
