Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday booked a drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that said most wanted drug smuggler namely Parvaiz Ahmad Shah S/o Mohd Subhan Shah R/o Kralgund Qaziabad has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, stating therein that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in its statement further said that many cases were registered against the accused also found involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth & other areas of the district and despite his involvement in many FIRs of Police Station Kralgund /Handwara, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to keep society free from drug abuse.
