Bus accident in Akhnoor: Magisterial Probe

In response to the devastating bus accident in Akhnoor on May 30, 2024, authorities swiftly launched a magisterial inquiry to investigate the incident. District Magistrate Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaisshya, issued an order mandating the inquiry, emphasizing the need to understand the circumstances leading to the accident to prevent future tragedies. The inquiry, to be conducted by Shishir Gupta, IAS, Additional District Magistrate, Jammu, aims to uncover the root causes of the accident and propose measures to prevent similar occurrences. The order stipulates that the inquiry report must be submitted within seven days to facilitate prompt action and ensure accountability. Moreover, the order directs Sr. Superintendent of Police, Jammu; Sr. Superintendent of Police, Traffic (City Jammu); Regional Transport Officer, Jammu; and SE Jammu North Public Works Department to extend full cooperation and assistance in the investigation process.
