Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting an accused for being involved in the commission of crime and aldso recovered stolen property from his possession in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that the police Station Uri received a written application from Shakeel Ahmad Parray R/o Garkote Uri wherein he alleged that during the intervening night of 22-April 2024 some unknown thieves have entered into his house and took away cash and gold items.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Uri besides initiating investigation, Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, several suspects were brought for questioning and one suspect Imran Ahmad Parray S/o Ghulam Qadir R/o Balkote Uri admitted his involvement in the commission of crime and later on his disclosure, stolen items including 7 golden rings, 01 golden ear ring, 1 mobile phone and cash amount of Rs 20000 was recovered.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that the said that accused was arrested in the instant case besides initiating investigation , reiterating therein its commitment to keep society free of crime. Police also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
