Hakeem welcomes ECI statement on conduct of Assembly elections

Srinagar:  Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front ( zj&K PDF  )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has welcomed statement of the Election Commission of India  wherein it has said  that it will “very soon” initiate the process of holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued on Saturday Hakeem while welcoming the recent  statement of the Election Commission of India  that it will “very soon” initiate the process of holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir , said that the people of jammu and kashmir were longing since last 10 years to have thier own elected government. He said proxy governments in jammu and kashmir have failed on all fronts to redress the  grievances of the people .   “ It was very heartening to hear ECI realising that the people of jammu and kashmir deserve thier government , Hakeem Yaseen observed  adding that the people of jammu and kashmir have openly expressed thier faith on electoral democracy by surpassing all previous records of  voter turnout  . He said the  poll panel has been  very encouraged and convinced  by people’s massive  participation in the parliamentary polls ,which  was a good omn towards holding  assembly elections at the earliest.
It is in place  to mention hrre that ECI has said that  the people of jammu and kashmir are happily turning out in large numbers to vote and as such  roots of democracy are being further strengthened and  the people deserve their government and “we will initiate that process very soon , ”
