Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has launched a special drive against illegal poppy cultivation here in which a huge patch of poppy spread over a large area was destroyed at Khankah Midoora areas.
In a statement issued from Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti launched the special drive, adding therein that a case under relevant sections of law against accused persons was registered at Police Station Awantipora besides initiating.
