SVEEP Team organises mega voters’ awareness rally at Rajouri

Amid dry, hot and humid weather, hundreds of people including men, women and children mostly bare foot visited the revered suffi Saint Shrine Sheikh Noor-Ud-Wali popularly known as Nund Resh at Charar-e- Sharief in Budgam district on Sunday for prayers to seek rainfall to end the drought season in Kashmir valley. Rajouri: The SVEEP Team Rajourion Tuesday organised a grand voters’ awareness rally, drawing the participation of around one thousand students and staff of various educational institutions including from PG College, BHSS, GHSS, HEM and others.
The awareness rally was organised under supervision of District Election Officer, Om PrakashBhagat.
The rally was flagged off by District Election Officer traversed through various routes with students displaying placards adorned with enlightening messages concerning SVEEP and chanting empowering slogans such as “my vote- my choice,” “my vote- my right,” “mera vote- merahaq,” and “vote for democracy”, “my vote- my future “. The rally culminated at the illustrious Sports Stadium Rajouri.
At the Sports Stadium, attendees were treated to the riveting final match of the T20 Rajouri Cup, a collaborative endeavor of the District SVEEP Cell and the Sports Association Rajouri. The tournament which commenced on April 21, 2024, witnessed the participation of 34 competitive teams and culminated on Tuesday amidst enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The event reached its pinnacle with prize distribution ceremony, wherein the victorious and Runner-up teams, alongside organizers, were bestowed with mementos, cash prizes and medals by District Election Officer.
Earlier, the District Election Officer lauded the relentless efforts of the District SVEEP Team in orchestrating diverse activities across the District under SVEEP. He emphasized the imperative role of voter participation in fortifying democracy and urged the sports enthusiasts and student community to actively propagate the message of SVEEP in their respective localities, thereby striving towards the target of achieving 75% voter turnout in forthcoming election.
The program culminated with a gracious vote of thanks from DNO SVEEP Prof. Mohammad IqbalRaina, underscoring the collaborative spirit and unwavering dedication towards fostering a vibrant democratic ethos within the community.
Principal PG College Rajouri Prof Shamim Ahmed Azad, Dy DEO Shakeel Ahmed Malik, ACR Rajouri Jangheer Khan, DNO SVEEP Prof. Mohammad IqbalRaina, Chief Education Officer Rajouri Mohammad Mushtaq, Principal BHSS Rajouri Rakesh Kumar, Principal GHSS RajouriGulzarHussain, Manager J&K Sports Authority Rajouri, along with dedicated members of the SVEEP team viz ; Khalid Rayaz, AjazNazir, Mohammad Azam, Mohammad AyazRaina, Aftab Shawl, Aashiq Shawl and representatives from the JK Police department, also remained present at the occasion.
