Rajouri : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that it has attached property/assets worth Rs. 2.25 crores of individuals involved in NDPS Acts, within a span of less than a month.
In a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Jammu Police said that while continuing with its resolute move to combat and free Rajouri from the menace of drugs, J&K Police in district Rajouri attached the property of a notorious drug peddler namely Mohd Shakoor @shakoora S/o Mohd Bashir R/o Dhan I Dhar Rajouri a well-known drug peddler of the area and is accused in 10 FIRs registered in different Police Stations of District Rajouri under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Police in its statement further said that subject matter is presently under judicial custody in Case FIR No. 44/2024 registered at Police Station Thanamandi under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
Stating that subject had also been detained under PSA in the month of December in 2022 but after release in September, 2023, Police in its statement further said that the subject continued his drug crime and was subsequently arrested by Rajouri Police in another drug case at Thanamandi, adding therein that moreover, the attachment has been done with an aim to give a stern message about stringent action to drug dealers.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that police team alongwith Executive Magistrate took the action and attached residential complex property, valuing around 50 Lakhs, under Sections 68(E) (F) of NDPS Act, 1985.
