Chairman DLSA, G’bal chairs UTRC meeting

Ganderbal : The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority conducted quarterly meeting of the UnderTrial Review Committee (UTRC) in District Ganderbal on Tuesday, for the quarter of April–June, 2024.
The meeting was convened in order to expedite the identification and review of prisoners who are eligible to be considered for release, as well as to accelerate the regular functioning of UTRC and review all eligible under-trial prisoners (UTPs)/Prisoners.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, Ritesh Kumar Dubey with the members of the Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC).
In the meeting, the committee reviewed cases of eligible UTPs/Prisoners shortlisted by the Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal for consideration. The committee recommended 03 cases of UTPs/Prisoners and directed Legal Aid Defense Counsels to take necessary steps and file applications/bail applications.
The meeting was attended by Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal, Nusrat Ali Hakak; Senior Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad Khan; Chief Prosecution Officer, Ganderbal, Shafat Ahmad; DYSP DAR, Nazir Ahmad; Officer Incharge, Subsidiary Jail, Dignibal Ganderbal, (ASI), Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Ganderbal and Assistant Legal Ad Defense Counsel, Ganderbal.
