SIA, Jammu files supplementary charge sheet against 2 militants of Rajouri: Police

Jammu: Police on Friday said that State Investigation Agency(SIA) Jammu has filed supplementary charge sheet against two militants involved in number of militant acts and activities in Kandi Budhal area of District Rajouri.
In a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ J&K Jammu Police said that a case related to militancy activities was registered at Police Station Mahore where two militants were arrested with huge quantity of automatic arms and ammunition including other war like stores from Budhal area in a joint operation by the Police and security forces.
Stating that during sustained interrogation more recoveries of sticky grenades, hand grenades, IEDs were recovered on their disclosures, Police in its statement said that case was transferred to State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu in view of the involvement of more militant associates in said case .
Police in its statement further said that the State Investigation Agency put strenuous efforts as a result of which the duo confessed their involvement in number of militant acts including killing, injuring and firing upon innocent persons, grenade throwing in a marriage party besides planting of IEDs in crowded places in Kandi Budhal areas that caused extensive damage to Government properties.
Police in its statement furthermore said that the said militants were active for longtime as they were carrying out militant acts on the behest of a top ranking grade –“A” militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit namely Mohd Qasim @ Salman @ Waseem S/O Mohd Shafi R/o Angralla District Reasi, who has exfiltrated to Pakistan for arms training during the year 1990. Stating that the accused had received huge quantity of arms and ammunitions and other war like stores through drone dropping from different places in Lamberi area of District Rajouri and then shifted the same to KandiBudhal area for militant acts, on the instruction of the Pak handler, Police in its statement further said that the main chargesheet of the case was filed before the Court on 29 December last year by State Investigation Agency Jammu.
Police in its statement further said that on further investigation of the said case two more associates of the said module of Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT) were taken into custody by State Investigation Agency Jammu and subsequently put under sustained interrogation during which they too confessed their involvement in number of militant acts, shifting of automatic arms and its ammunitions including other war like store items from Lamberi to Kandi Budhal area in association of the accused person Talib Hussain Shah, who was earlier arrested along with sophisticated weapons and its ammunitions. Stating that the duo has voluntarily joined the LeT outfit on the motivation of Pak handlers, Police in its statement further said that the said accused were also found involved in number of FIRs that stand registered in Kandi Budhal area for militant act/activities.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said “the deep rooted conspiracy of LeT module to distend their militancy related activities in District Rajouri and waging the war against sovereignty and integrity of India has been exposed with the arrest of four (04) active militants”, adding that “the investigation of the case is continued for the arrest of more associates of said Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) module”.
