Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has solved hit and run case in Pulwama by arresting an accused involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 14th May this Police Post Newa received an input about hit and run incident involving an Auto Load Carrier which had hit a 10-year-old minor girl at Wurwan and fled the scene, adding therein that the girl was critically injured and subsequently shifted to District Hospital Pulwama.
Stating that a case under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama besides initiating investigation into the case, Police in its statement further said that the said injured girl succumbed to her injuries, leading to the invocation of Section 304-A IPC in the case.
Police in its statement further said that during investigation the available CCTV footage along the road was obtained and thoroughly analysed, Stating therein further that after strenuous efforts, the accused driver identified as Imran Ali Mir S/o Ali Mohd Mir R/o Sanzipora, B.K. Pora, Budgam was arrested. Stating that later during questioning, the accused admitted his involvement in the commission of crime, Police in the concluding para of its statement said that the vehicle, a Mahindra Auto Load Carrier bearing registration No. JK01AD 9301 involved in the commission of crime was also recovered and subsequently seized.
