Youth in Jammu & Kashmir have a greater tendency to build their careers in engineering services and fortunately this rising trend heads to no dead end in Jammu & Kashmir but unfortunately their aspirations take a big hit due to delay in the completion of admission processes by J&K BOPEE and reduced scope for engineering jobs in private sector which is yet to flourish in Jammu & Kashmir. Unfortunately unprecedented delays in the admission processes for engineering courses undertaken by J&K BOPEE and dearth in the engineering jobs in private sector due to its very reduced scope for expansion in Jammu &Kashmir trigger migration of engineering aspirants from J&K to other states and union territories of the country. As usual this year also the publication of a notification for admissions to engineering courses for the Common Entrance Test (CET) by J&K Board Of Professional Entrance Examination (J&K BOPEE) has triggered apprehensions of unprecedented delay in the completion of selection process. Surprisingly the J&K BOPEE has not mentioned even the dates of the Common Entrance Test (CET) in its notification which it says will be notified later and henceforth the CET for selection of candidates to engineering has been again started by J&K BOPEE with the apprehensions of delays in the completion of entire selection process. In fact unprecedented delays in the conduct of CET not only force J&K aspirants to seek admissions in engineering colleges in other states and union territories of the country but also leave vacancies unfilled in most of engineering colleges year after year. Seeking admissions for engineering courses outside J&K before the declaration of the CET results by J&K BOPEE shows the tendency of J&K aspirants to secure their admissions in engineering courses outside J&K much before they are denied admissions by J&K BOPEE.
“J&K BOPEE can make even the entire CET selection process time bound for the purposes of advancing the admissions at J&K engineering colleges in Jammu & Kashmir. Early completion of the CET conducted by J&K BOPEE would by all probabilities prompt J&K students to avail admissions in J&K Engineering Colleges instead of seeking admissions anywhere else in the country and such a practice won’t leave too much vacancies unfilled in J&K Engineering Colleges. “
With the change in the schedule of examination sessions under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Jammu & Kashmir like other parts of the country the timing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) can be rescheduled by J&K BOPEE for the academic conveniences of the engineering aspirants of Jammu & Kashmir. J&K BOPEE can make even the entire CET selection process time bound for the purposes of advancing the admissions at J&K engineering colleges in Jammu & Kashmir. Early completion of the CET conducted by J&K BOPEE would by all probabilities prompt J&K students to avail admissions in J&K Engineering Colleges instead of seeking admissions anywhere else in the country and such a practice won’t leave too much vacancies unfilled in J&K Engineering Colleges.
