1 held for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals case in Sopore, Vehicle also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested one accused for being in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Sopore and also seized vehicle from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team of Police Post Bus Stand headed by I/C Police Post Bus Stand initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir and SHO Police Station Sopore seized a vehicle (tractor) and arrested a driver identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar S/o Abdul Khaliq R/o Seelo Sopore involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nalla Phuroo Seelo, Sopore.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/river as it is the violation of Government rules and also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
