Kharge Lashes Out At BJP, Says Only 12.2 Lakh Formal Jobs Added In 5 Years

Dhule: All India Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday launched a scathing attack on BJP and the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, quipping that with a sudden change in picture in the country, it is not only difficult for BJP to win 400 but 40 seats across the country.

Addressing an election rally here for INDIA bloc candidate Shobha Bachav, he recounted the struggles and sacrifices made by Congress party leaders for freedom of the country.

Questioning contribution of BJP for the country, he ridiculed them for seeking votes on development agenda in the elections.

The Congress chief accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of trying to create a rift in society on communal lines by making statements on Mughals, Muslims and ‘Mangalsutra’ and giving chants of ‘Ab Ki Bar 400 Par’.

Targeting BJP and the Modi government, he chargd that BJP, its parent body RSS and Modi want to amend the Constitution by getting a majority of 400 seats in parliament and recalled that the language of changing the Constitution was first made in public in 2015.

RSS sarsangchalak Mohan Bhagwat has also publicly asked for review of reservation, he said and claimed that even now BJP MPs are talking about changing the Constitution.

“If the Constitution is changed, the reservation and basic rights of dalits, backward and poor people will be taken away. If the Constitution is not protected, public will suffer,” he warned.

Noting that this ploy of BJP should not be successful under any circumstances, Kharge appealed people to defeat BJP and bring INDIA bloc government to power.

Continuing his attack, he accused Modi of lying every day and alleged that he is used to lying, while referring to electoral promises made to public such as bringing back black money from abroad, depositing Rs 15 lakh into everyone’s bank accounts, providing two crore jobs every year, doubling income of farmers, but has not fulfilled as yet.

Talking about ‘Modi’s guarantee’ campaign undertaken by BJP, the Congress chief warned public that they should not fall prey to such gimmicks again.

He charged that the Modi government has caused a lot of trouble to the opposition parties by misusing central investigation agencies against them and putting 800 leaders in jail across the country.

Kharge also alleged that the Modi government used three keys — Enforcement Directorate, CBI, Income-Tax to topple the elected state governments across the country.
