Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has booked a drug smuggler under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the drug smuggler namely Mohammad Asif Dar @Aash Manut S/o Ghulam Hassan Dar R/o Mumkak Butpora Sopore has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the said drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.
Stating that many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler who even though did not mend his activities and was still involved in drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of the Police District Sopore and other areas of the district, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to take strict actions against such criminals as per the law.
