Kishtwar : Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), MamtaSudershanon Friday led a surprise market inspection in Kishtwar town, aimed at ensuring compliance with the J&K Shops & Establishment Act 1966 and Child Labour Act 1986.
The inspection covered different markets, businesses and food establishments in Kishtwar town, including areas near Sangrambhatta, ShaheediChowk, Om Mehta Road and Police Station road.
During the inspection, the team checked for compliance with Form C requirements, maintenance registers of employees, among other regulations and issued challans against any violations found.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner highlighted the importance of regular market inspections, emphasizing their role in curbing labour violations.
She noted with satisfaction that no instances of child labour were observed during the inspection.
She urged all shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the provisions of the J&K Shops & Establishment Act 1966 and Child Labour Act 1986.
