19 vehicles seized involved in illegal mining, 18 drivers arrested in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has seized 19 vehicles involved illegal mining of minerals in Baramulla and also arrested 18 drivers on spot.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla/SDPO Kreeri and Pattan, police seized 19 vehicles (11 Tippers, 8 Tractors) and also arrested 18 drivers. Police in its statement identified the said drivers arrested by it as Shabir Ahmad Bhat R/o Shilwat Sumbal, Mansoor Ahmad Wani R/o Kanlibagh, Irshad Ahmad Malla R/o Khanpora, Waseem Ahmad Sheikh & Wahid Maqbool Mir, both residents of Shilwat Sumbal, Ab Hameed Siraj R/o Bomai Sopore, Sameer Ahmad Dar R/o Kanisuth, Adil Ramzan Dar R/o Naranthal, Mohd Yousuf Sheikh & Javed Ahmad Dar, both residents of Khanpora, Afeer Ahmad Bhat R/o Mujgund, Farooq Ahmad Dar R/o Takanwari Srinagar, Nasir Ahmad Sheikh R/o Pehliharan, Aijaz Ahmad Malla & Gh Rasool Marazi, both residents of Sheeri, Faisal Ahmad Khan R/o Bangdara & Adil Khaliq Alaie R/o Waripora Payeen at Delina, Chakloo, Singhpora, Khawajabagh, Sheeri, Kreeri and Palhallan areas of Baramulla district..
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Baramulla, Sheeri, Pattan and Kreeri besides initiating further investigation , Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/river as it is the violation of Government rules. Police also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
