Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting two accused and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Chadoora received a written application from Mehraj-u-din Matta S/o Manzoor Ahmad Matta R/o Nai Sadak Habbakadal Srinagar who alleged therein that during the intervening night of 30th April/1st May 2024 some unknown thieves have stolen 96 XCMG drilling Rods at Madbal Sogam crossing.
Stating that on receipt of this complaint a case under FIR No. 57/24 under relevant sections of law was registered and the investigation was taken up, Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, many suspects were questioned and during questioning, two suspects Mubarak Hussain Khatana S/o Mohd Bashir Khatana R/o Seela Reasi and Shahzad Ahmad Gakhar S/o Mohd Haneef Gakhar R/o Thanamandi Rajouri confessed their involvement in the commission of crime.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police said that on the disclosure of the said accused, stolen 96 XCMG drilling Rods along with a truck bearing registration No. JK02AQ 8275 used in commission of crime were recovered, adding therein that both the accused were arrested.
