2 absconders evading their arrest for more than 3 decades arrested in B’la: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two absconders in Baramulla who were evading their arrests from three decades.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a Police Party of Police Station Kunzer arrested two absconders namely Showkat Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Majeed R/o Wagenpora Srinagar & Showkat Ahmad Makhdoomi S/o Mohd Yaseen R/o Makhdoom Sahab Srinagar for being involved in case FIR No. 296/1998 under section 224 RPC & 308/1999 under section 420 RPC of Police Station Pattan.
Police in its statement further said that the warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Sub Judge JMIC Tangmarg against them but they were evading their arrests since 1998 and 1999 respectively, adding therein that both the arrested absconders were produced before the Court of JMIC Tangmarg.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police said that it has implementing rigorous measures to ensure that all individuals absconding their arrests are apprehended and held accountable for their criminal actions, adding therein that this dedication to combating Crime will remain steadfast.
