Bandipora, May 07: A 28-year-old tourist from Haryana has died in a hotel room at Gurez Valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.

Even though the cause of death is yet to be ascertained, doctors at Gurez informed to the media persons that her death may have happened due to gas poisoning and subsequent cardiopulmonary arrest.

Rupali, along with her parents and a sibling had been on a tour to Gurez valley. Officials informed to the media persons that Rupali has been to the washroom for a bath in the morning but didn’t come out following which the door was smashed open and she was found lying unconscious.

BMO Gurez Dr. Tahira said that she was brought dead to the SDH Gurez, and that preliminary cause seems cardiac arrest due to gas poisoning.

The BMO said the body is at SDH and that other medico-legal formalities are being conducted to know the exact cause of death.

“So far we can determine it’s is a cardiopulmonary arrest following suspected gas poisoning as according to our reports she had been to the washroom,” BMO said.
