Poppy cultivation destroyed in B’gam: Police

Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Thursday said that it has destroyed poppy cultivation spread over vast area of land in Pallar area of Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a special drive against illegal cultivation of Poppy was launched by joint team Budgam Police and officials of revenue & excise department, adding therein that during the drive, a huge patch of Poppy is spread over vast area of land in Pallar area of Budgam.
Stating that a case FIR No. 145/2024 under section 8/18 NDPS Act was registered against 16 people of estate Pallar at Police Station Budgam for illegal cultivation of Poppy in their fields, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to extend cooperation to it and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood.
