Kulgam: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather on Thursday visited upper areas of Rajwar block to assess losses caused due to recent flash floods.
During the visit, the ADC visited Nichihama, Zachaldara and other areas affected due to heavy rainfall. He checked the status of roads, bridges and other public infrastructure affected by the flash floods.
He directed the concerned engineers for timely repair of the damaged public infrastructure. He also passed instructions to Executive Engineer PMGSY to ensure proper protective measures of Nichama Bridge and road.
The ADC also interacted with the local people and heard their issues.
Tehsildar Zachaldara, Executive Engineer PMGSY and other engineers of PMGSY accompanied the ADC.
Later, the ADC paid visit to different Polling Stations and checked the availability of assured minimum facilities ahead of Lok Sabha Election 2024, and issued on spot directions to Block Development Officer, Rajwar with regard to AMF at Polling station 80-Satkochi as the wash room of said Polling station had got fully damaged/Collapsed due to incessant rains.
