Srinagar : On this Labor Day, the Community Information Centre (CIC) Operators of the Rural Development Department (RDD) in Jammu and Kashmir have raised their voices against what they perceive as a grave injustice.
The operaters said that, “Despite our qualifications and years of service, we find ourselves at the bottom of the pay scale, receiving a mere Rs. 333 per day, which falls far below the stipulated minimum wage”. Recruited through a rigorous selection process back in 2004, these skilled individuals have been speaking up for their genuine demands over a long period of time. “For the CIC operators, the current wage disparity translates into a daily struggle for survival, marked by hardship and suffering,” they said.
In a heartfelt appeal to the LG Administration, the CIC Operators of RDD (J&K) urged the authorities to promptly address their salary hike issue. They called for adherence to the Minimum Wage Act, emphasizing the importance of equitable pay for all workers. The operators believed that their plea will be heard and LG Administration will take swift action to address their concerns.
