Doda: Water Testing Assessment Team (WTAT), led by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Om Kumar visited Water Testing Lab here to evaluate the quality of drinking water and identify potential contaminants or hazards.
During their visit, the CMO and his team closely monitored the water testing process and engaged with the lab’s staff to ensure compliance with established protocols.
The Chief Medical Officer explained that the team is responsible for identifying all sources of drinking water within the municipal jurisdictions of Doda, Bhaderwah and Thathri. This includes public taps, bore wells, reservoirs, and private wells. The team will collect samples from designated sites and maintain a detailed chain of custody to ensure proper record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards. Comprehensive testing will be conducted to identify any potential health risks.
The team conducting the water quality assessment included Jag Mohan (Assistant Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti), Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Sanjeev Rana (In-Charge Legal) and Shabir Ahmed (In-Charge Sanitary Inspector).
RAC clears 13 cases at Doda
Doda: The Rent Assessment Committee (RAC) on Tuesday cleared 13 cases at its meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh here.
A total of 16 proposals of rent for accommodation pertaining to Police, Security Force, FCS&CA, Agriculture, DYSSO, ICDs, Ayush ISM, I&FC, RDD, Health and Handloom were discussed by the Committee.
The Committee approved the rent for 13 accommodations, while three others were deferred for want of further clearance from intending department.
The meeting was attended by Dy SP Hqrs Doda, SE PWD (R&B) circle Doda, Commanding officer 10 RR, CPO Doda, ACD Doda, CMO, CAO, and other concerned heads and representatives of various departments.
JKTPO organises workshop on ODOP promotion at Doda
Doda: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO), in furtherance to its efforts to promote ODOP (One District One Product) and enhance the export potential of same, on Tuesday organized a workshop for the stakeholders here in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh, along with JKTPO representatives Jeeten Kumar, Suchant Sharma, CPO Doda, Manish Sharma, CAO, Anil Gupta, other officers and farmers attended the program.
The event was part of the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), aimed at obtaining organic certification for Rajmah and lavender, the key ODOP products of the Doda district.
The JKTPO, under the guidance of Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce department, and following the directions of Chief Secretary of J&K, is actively working to build capacity, generate awareness about various interventions, and create forward linkages to fetch better remuneration for farmers, entrepreneurs, and artisans.
Area Dev Officer accorded warm farewell at Doda
Doda: Department of Agriculture, Doda accorded a grand farewell to Neeraj Sharma, Area Development Officer on his retirement on Tuesday.
Neeraj Sharma began his journey with the department in 1988 and steadily climbed the ranks, holding various roles from Junior Agriculture Extension Officer to District Agriculture Officer. His commitment and dedication to the field of agriculture in Doda is evident throughout his career, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
On the occasion, speakers highlighted his significant contributions and numerous achievements. They praised his unwavering work ethic and passion for agriculture, acknowledging how his leadership and guidance had benefited the department and the farmers of Doda.
Doda admin accords grand farewell to retiring PWD Engineers
Doda: District Administration Doda, in presence of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, hosted a grand farewell for two senior engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD), Er Ram Paul Gupta and Er Niaz Ahmed, who retired on Tuesday after 36 years of committed service.
Er Ram Paul Gupta, who retired as Superintending Engineer from the PWD (R&B) Circle Doda-Kishtwar, served in various capacities, from Junior Engineer to Superintending Engineer, across multiple wings of the department. His colleagues and superiors praised his unwavering dedication and significant contributions throughout his career.
Er Niaz Ahmed, an Assistant Engineer with the PWD (R&B) Division Doda, also retired after 36 years of service, having held roles including Junior Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, and Assistant Engineer in different wings of the PWD (R&B) Department.
The event, which took place at the headquarters in Doda, was attended by several dignitaries, including the CEO of the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), Bal Krishan. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh extended his best wishes to both engineers for a fulfilling post-retirement life, acknowledging their hard work and dedication to the service.
