Jammu : Anti-militant operation continued for the third day on Tuesday in Basantgarh forest area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, the anti-militant operation continued for the third consecutive day in the Basantgarh forest area of Udhampur.
Sources said that army, SOG, CRPF as well as para commandos have cordoned off a wide area and guarded all the escape routes.
He said that senior police and army officers are monitoring the operation themselves, but no trace of the fugitive militants has been found yet.
ADGP Jammu Anand Jain says that there may be four to six militant tents in the forest area.
According to him, the militants have managed to come to this side through infiltration and are being searched on a large scale.
He further informed that the fugitive militants will be brought to an end very soon.
It should be noted that after receiving information about the movement of militant tents, the VDG members started a search operation in the Basantgarh forest area of Udhampur on Sunday morning, during which the gunmen sitting in wait started firing indiscriminately. As a result, one VDG member died.
